ABOUT PEAK

We empower differently wired individuals and their families,
providing the insights and information to nurture their exceptional minds.

At PEAK, our philosophy is simple. We believe that people with learning differences are so much more than scores on a page. That their lives and their abilities are infinitely greater than the sum of their diagnoses. And that, when given the right information and supports, there is nothing to stop these creative, innovative and divergent thinkers.

That’s why we strive to offer assessments and supports that go beyond the obvious to discover your unique blend of talents and challenges, then provide the insights that foster understanding and empowerment.

Its why we approach each assessment from multiple angles.
With expertise in clinical psychology, educational evaluations, and neuropsychology, we have the ability to dig deep, getting to the bottom of what’s going on and why.

And its why we work closely with you, your family, and any outside professionals –such as school staff or healthcare providers –to leave no stone unturned.

From the time you call us to the final feedback session, we’re here to support you on your journey. And at the end of the day, we are proud to support our growing community of amazing, exceptional clients – offering the insights, guidance, and support to help them truly thrive.

The PEAK Story

PEAK storyPEAK Exceptional Services was founded by Terri Lucero, Ph.D.  A seasoned psychologist and neuropsychologist, Dr. Lucero has helped hundreds of clients and their families, providing comprehensive assessments for over 25 years.

When her own children were identified as being gifted and twice exceptional, her work took on new meaning. Dr. Lucero soon realized that many parents, schools, and even other assessment providers, did not truly understand the many complexities involved with accurately assessing individuals with learning differences like giftedness, twice exceptionality, ADHD, autism, and dyslexia.

She saw how children and adults alike were misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or simply ignored.  Many flew under the radar. They never got the help they needed and struggled needlessly in school and in life.  Her passion for helping these quirky, divergent thinkers was the impetus for PEAK Exceptional Services.

Today, PEAK is a premier provider of psychoeducational assessments for clients of all ages. We are known for our personalized approach to assessment, as well as our in-depth reporting. We’re also passionate advocates for those who are differently wired.

We want to hear their stories, understand their challenges, and develop customized assessments that uncover what’s truly going on. But most of all, we strive to provide the meaningful insights that help our clients and their families understand and nurture their exceptional minds.

Our Guiding
Values

We believe that our clients are so much more than scores on a page,
and are committed to improving the lives of the people behind the assessments.

We care about the well-being of every person who walks through our doors.

We believe that being exceptional means being yourself. We want every client to walk away with the understanding, tools, and confidence to capitalize on their own unique set of talents.

Honesty and integrity guide everything we do.

Our work is guided by curiosity and meaning. We consider ourselves detectives whose job it is to uncover valuable insights that others miss.
